Eternia's royal archaeologist, who leads expeditions to ancient sites and mentors his apprentice Stanlan.
Melaktha is the royal archaeologist of Eternia, based at the Royal Palace but usually seen in the field at ancient sites. He is calm and methodical, and he treats his work as a serious scholarly discipline rather than treasure hunting. He mentors a young apprentice, Stanlan, whose impulsiveness repeatedly creates the danger Melaktha then has to manage.
His largest role is the two-part House of Shokoti story, where he organises the dig at the Sands of Time and works alongside He-Man and Ram Man once the site turns hostile. He also turns up wherever the plot involves Eternian antiquity, which makes him one of the more dependable recurring civilian figures in the series and a useful reminder that Eternia has a documented history its characters actively study.
