Is the 4K disc worth it when the film is free on Prime Video?
Masters of the Universe went straight to Prime Video at no extra cost, and Amazon never opened a paid digital edition. So the disc is not competing with a $19.99 download. It is competing with free. Here is the honest case for and against.

The short answer. If you own a 4K player and a system that does Atmos, the disc is worth it: lossless audio, disc-bitrate Dolby Vision, two bonus features the stream does not carry, and a copy that does not depend on Amazon keeping the film up. If you watch on a laptop or a phone, the stream is genuinely fine and $37.99 is better spent on the toys.

Most disc-versus-stream comparisons quote a bitrate gap. We are not going to, because Amazon does not publish per-title streaming bitrates, and any number you see attached to this film is someone’s estimate presented as a measurement.
What is true without a number: a stream is delivered inside a bandwidth budget and a disc is not. A BD-100 has capacity the delivery pipe does not, which is why the lossless Atmos track can exist on the disc at all. That is a real difference, and on a large screen with a proper audio chain it is an audible and visible one. On a phone it is not.
The other thing worth being straight about: the disc reviews are not out yet. blu-ray.com, AVForums and others will publish picture-quality analysis around the October 20 street date, with screenshots and measured bitrates. If picture quality is your deciding factor, wait a week and read those. This page is about the buying decision, not the encode.
The ownership argument, which is unusually strong here
For most new films the disc competes against a digital purchase, and you can reasonably argue that a digital copy is ownership enough. That option does not exist for this film. Amazon MGM put it on Prime Video included with a membership and never opened a storefront window, so there is no digital edition to buy on Apple TV, Fandango at Home or Google TV, and none on Amazon either.
That makes this a binary. Either you have a disc, or you have access that lasts exactly as long as Amazon chooses to keep the film on Prime. As an in-house Amazon MGM production it will probably stay a long time. Probably is doing real work in that sentence.

Does Prime Video stream Masters of the Universe in 4K and Dolby Atmos?
Prime Video supports 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos on eligible titles, plans and hardware. What no one can tell you is the bitrate, because Amazon does not publish per-title streaming bitrates. That is the honest limit of the comparison: the disc is uncompressed relative to any stream, but we cannot put a number on the gap.
Will Masters of the Universe leave Prime Video?
No removal date has been announced, and as an Amazon MGM production on Amazon’s own service it is likely to stay longer than a licensed title would. That is not a guarantee. Streaming rights change, and the disc is the only version that is not subject to them.
Which disc should I buy?
The 4K Ultra HD at 37.99 dollars for most people, since it includes a Blu-ray copy in the same case. The Amazon exclusive SteelBook at 46.99 dollars if you want the metal case and the mini-comic. The Blu-ray at 31.99 dollars if you have no 4K player. Skip the DVD unless budget is the deciding factor, and note the press release does not list the bonus features for it.

Yes, the 4K Ultra HD disc is region free and plays worldwide on a 4K player. The bundled 1080p Blu-ray is Region A.
