Every Masters of the Universe (2026) SteelBook, compared
Five steelbook editions exist across four territories, and only one of them includes the mini-comic. Here is what is in each box, what each one costs, when each one streets, and which is actually worth buying.

The short answer. If you are in the United States, buy the Amazon exclusive at $46.99. It is the only edition with the collectible mini-comic, it ships free, and every other edition costs more once you add international shipping. The one genuine reason to look elsewhere is the German Plaion Collector’s Edition, which adds a rigid slipcase, artcards and a poster, and it is not currently orderable.

The one to buy in the US
Amazon exclusive 4K SteelBook, $46.99. Metal case, both the 4K Ultra HD and the Blu-ray discs, plus a collectible mini-comic book. The mini-comic is named in the Amazon MGM and Alliance press release, so it is a studio commitment rather than retailer copy.
Against the standard 4K Ultra HD at $37.99, you are paying $9 for the packaging and the comic. The film, the 4K presentation and the bonus features are identical.

Edition by edition
United States: Amazon exclusive 4K SteelBook
The default buy for a US collector. It is the only edition with the mini-comic, it ships free, and it is the cheapest route to the film in 4K in a metal case without import shipping.
United Kingdom: UK retail 4K SteelBook
Widely stocked rather than exclusive to anyone, and all four retailers share barcode 5061088923679, so it is one product with several sellers. No mini-comic. Worth importing only if you prefer the artwork.
Germany, standard: German retail 4K SteelBook
Plaion product number 1207221, explicitly not an exclusive. Currently not orderable on Plaion’s own shop.
Germany, collector: Plaion exclusive Collector’s SteelBook Edition
The best physical package of the four by some distance, and the only edition offering anything the Amazon one does not. It is also the only one you currently cannot order.
France: Les Maîtres de l’Univers 4K SteelBook
Not an exclusive. Latest of the five street dates. French and English audio.
Is importing worth it?
On price, no. Zavvi will ship the UK edition to a US address for $44.99 plus $5.99 shipping, which lands at $50.98 against $46.99 with free shipping from Amazon. You pay about four dollars more, you lose the mini-comic, and you inherit an unresolved region question. Import the UK or French edition because you prefer the artwork, not to save money.
The German Plaion Collector’s Edition is the only edition that offers something the Amazon one does not: a rigid slipcase box, artcards and a poster. At €59.99 before international freight it is roughly 40 percent more than the Amazon steelbook, and Plaion’s shop currently lists it as unavailable. Buy that one for the box, if and when it comes back.
One unresolved thing worth knowing before you import. Early German listings show DTS-HD MA 5.1 rather than the Dolby Atmos track on the US and UK discs. The source that reported it marked the specs as not final, so we are flagging it rather than stating it. If lossless Atmos matters to you, wait for the German specs to be confirmed.
Region coding
The US 4K Ultra HD disc is region free, so it plays on any 4K player anywhere. The 1080p Blu-ray bundled with it is Region A.
The UK edition’s region coding is genuinely unclear, and we would rather say so than pick one. Zavvi lists it as region free, HMV lists it as A, B and C, and the Amazon UK listing title says Region B. Three retailers, three answers. Since the 4K disc in every edition appears to be region free, the question only affects the bundled Blu-ray. We will update this when a retailer or the studio settles it.
