The packed-in pamphlets that defined pre-Filmation Eternia. 49 issues across four series, with Alcala's painterly inks setting the visual register that every later continuity has been measured against.

1986-1988
Marvel's kid-skewed imprint published 13 issues plus a movie one-shot. Ron Wilson's newsstand-bright covers were the first many US readers saw of the property on a 7-Eleven spinner rack.

88 weekly issues plus six annuals. Tafalla's photo-realist painted covers are the most-collected MOTU art outside the Alcala minis; every UK reader in the late 80s grew up on these.

2002-2004
The MYP 200X reboot got a 7-issue Image series, an 8-issue Icons of Evil one-shot run, and a 24-page Free Comic Book Day issue. Tony Daniel's Icons of Evil covers are the era's grail.

2012-2016
Six interconnected DC series, capped by The Eternity War (15 issues, 2014-15). Philip Tan's digital-painted covers reset the visual brand for a generation; later writers folded the run into DC's wider multiverse.

The current ongoing. Dark Horse picked up the MOTU licence in 2023, kicking off with Forge of Destiny, then Masterverse, Revelation, Revolution, the Turtles of Grayskull TMNT crossover, and a new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe ongoing. Heavy variant-cover programs each issue.

The first Masters of the Universe mini-comic, packed in with the original He-Man action figure in 1982. Alcala painted the cover and the 24 interior pages, working from Mark Taylor concept B-sheets and Polaroids of prototype tooling.
