Mattel’s own page has been Sold Out for weeks
This is the part the alerts left out, and it changes what the listing means to you.
Orko went up on Mattel Creations on June 22 as a made-to-order drop. Made to order means what it says. Mattel takes orders inside a window and then makes that many. Its own terms put the window at June 22, 2026 at 9:00 am PT until July 13, 2026 at 11:59 pm PT, and that closed seven weeks ago. The page today carries a greyed-out Sold Out button. Price $25.00. Backorder date September 3, 2027.
So this is not a story about two live listings and which is faster. For most of us it is a second chance at a figure that was gone. That it also lands three months earlier is the bonus!
The same figure, almost certainly, but nobody has shown a code
Toy Habits spotted the BBTS listing first and hedged it as “appears to be the exact same figure”. That hedge deserves to survive into our copy. Mattel’s item is JKP00. BBTS prints no product code on its page at all. We cannot match them, so we will not pretend otherwise.
What we can say is that the two listings agree on every number. BBTS is also running Mattel’s vendor copy close to word for word (right down to the line about Orko being more than just a spellcaster). That is strong. It is not a SKU.
What is in the box
Mattel’s spec sheet: 3.75 inches tall without the stand, 11 points of articulation, two sets of interchangeable hands, two magic effects that plug into either hand, the wand, and light-up eyes with a randomised blink. The stand has six points of articulation of its own. That is how he ends up hovering rather than perched on a peg.
BBTS lists the contents more tersely: a pair of hands, two effects, the wand, a figure stand. The photograph above is the spare pair. You get the splayed set on the figure and this open-fingered one loose.
He is small, and that is correct
Mattel’s own scale shot puts Orko at 3.75 inches against the 5.5 inch Chronicles He-Man, which is the ratio he has had since 1983.
One thing to read before you click
BBTS says on this listing that the $25.99 includes a tariff surcharge, set at the rate known when the listing went up. The final price can move either way. BBTS also says you get told before your card is charged and can cancel then. Nothing sinister (the notice is on plenty of their pre-orders now), but a price you are locking in for June 2027 is worth reading the small print on.
The question everybody asked first
On the Toy News International thread, collector Admiralty_Entertainment put it plainly: “I thought Orko was supposed to be a Mattel Creations exclusive?” Fair question, and not ours to answer for Mattel. Here is what we can tell you. Mattel sold him as a Creations made-to-order drop, that window shut on July 13, and a major retailer is now taking orders. Whether that becomes a pattern or stays a one-off, nobody has said.
Worth it?
Twenty six dollars for a 3.75 inch figure sounds steep until you look at the tray. Light-up eyes, two effect pieces, a spare set of hands, and a six-jointed stand that does the floating properly. For us the stand is the reason to buy it. Every Orko any of us has owned since 1983 has had the same problem, which is that he will not stand up, and Mattel has finally stopped pretending a peg and a base solves it.
If you took the Creations window in June you already have one on the way for September 2027. Everyone else has a live listing again, and a shorter wait!
