Mattel Creations opens its July Masters of the Universe slate today, July 8, with the MOTU Origins Tauraton, a six-armed, 8-inch minotaur beast in gold armor that ships with a ram’s head club, chest armor, and the “Sneak Attack” mini-comic. Fan site Toy Habits, which has been cross-referencing the U.S. and Australian Mattel Creations launch calendars, reports additional reserved MOTU slots on July 10 and July 20, plus two separate listings on July 24, the Friday of San Diego Comic-Con.
One of those July 24 slots is already accounted for: that is the day the MOTU Chronicles Gym Bro Skeletor, this year’s official SDCC exclusive inspired by the 2026 movie’s mind-invasion sequence, goes up for order on MattelCreations.com. The second slot is what has collectors talking. Toy Habits speculates it could be a duplicate listing, or it could be another movie dream-sequence figure, with fans openly hoping for an HR Skeletor in office attire to complete a trifecta with Gym Bro Skeletor and the retail Dream Date Skeletor.
There is precedent for the Australian calendar tipping reveals early. Toy Habits notes a June AU listing that did not appear on the U.S. calendar turned out to be the made-to-order MOTU Chronicles Orko. Nothing about the July 24 second slot has been confirmed by Mattel.
The July 10 date is murkier: the AU calendar reserves a MOTU drop that day while the U.S. calendar shows a hidden Mattel Brick Shop listing, so it may or may not be related. Mattel’s confirmed SDCC 2026 program runs July 22 to 26 at booths 3029 and 2945, with exclusives available at the show and on MattelCreations.com from July 23.
