Update, August 6: he is back. Big Bad Toy Store has Dream Date Skeletor open for pre-order again in BBTS Mint packaging at 59.99 dollars, estimated to arrive December 2026, with the cap raised to six per customer. The Substandard packaging option is still gone. Our original August 3 report follows.
When we covered Dream Date Skeletor on July 4, the open question was whether Mattel would hold him back as a Creations web exclusive or push him out to wide retail. That is answered. He went up at Big Bad Toy Store as a normal Chronicles listing at 59.99 dollars, capped at two per customer, and sold out in both BBTS Mint and Substandard packaging within days.

Pre-orders are open again
The waitlist worked. BBTS puts a free JOIN WAITLIST button under the price on sold-out listings, and on Mattel Chronicles product that allocation tends to come back as top-ups rather than one large restock. This is that top-up: the listing now shows PRE-ORDER with an add-to-cart button rather than a waitlist signup.
Worth knowing before you click. It is a pre-order, not in-hand stock. No payment is due until BBTS is ready to ship, you can cancel any time before payment, and the December 2026 arrival date is an estimate rather than a promise. The per-customer cap has gone from two to six, which reads like a healthier allocation than the first run.

What you are pre-ordering
A 6.5-inch Chronicles body in a real fabric purple suit, which is the whole reason this one is interesting. Mattel could have painted a suit on and most people would have shrugged. Instead the tailoring is soft goods over the standard articulation, the Havoc Staff is reworked into a slim cane with a ram skull on the handle, and Panthor comes along at house cat scale.
The accessory count is modest next to Gym Bro Skeletor, the SDCC exclusive that shipped in July with dumbbells, a barbell and a gym towel. Dream Date is buying you a costume, not a kit.

The Aaron Dark connection
The reason this figure lands harder than a one-scene gag deserves is that fans have seen the suit before, on paper. Masters of the Universe 2: The Cosmic Caper, the unmade 1980s sequel that was eventually stripped for parts to make Cyborg, had Skeletor operating on Earth under a corporate alias: Aaron Dark. Mattel has never claimed the film’s dream sequence is a reference to it. Forty years of fans reading the same leaked script will make the connection anyway, and it is a large part of why a background costume got a 60 dollar collector figure.
