Toy Habits reports, citing a trusted trade source, that Dream Date Skeletor, a MOTU Chronicles figure based on Skeletor’s dream-sequence cameo in the 2026 Masters of the Universe movie, is tracking toward a wider retail release with an estimated ship window around August 2026, rather than a Mattel Creations web-exclusive drop.
The figure reimagines Skeletor in a full purple business suit with a ram-skull topped cane, alongside a housecat sized Panthor. It is a nod to “Aaron Dark,” the corporate disguise Skeletor was going to wear in the unproduced 1980s sequel Masters of the Universe 2: The Cosmic Caper, a project later stripped for parts to help make Jean-Claude Van Damme’s Cyborg. The figure first surfaced through Instagram posts from @toyscavenger and supersorrell after appearing at a MOTU premiere event in the UK, and Mattel has since shared official images confirming the design.
Toy Habits cautions that Mattel has changed distribution plans on MOTU Chronicles figures before. The outlet points to MOTU Chronicles Scare Glow, which was originally planned as a broad retail release before Mattel shifted it to a Walmart exclusive at the last minute, so nothing is locked in until preorders actually go live. Two Mattel Creations drop windows, July 3 and July 15, are flagged as possible dates when preorders for Dream Date Skeletor could open.
