The Sorceress of Castle Grayskull is the guardian of the castle, the keeper of its secrets, and the most powerful magic-user on Eternia. She chose Prince Adam to wield the Power Sword and bestowed on him the transformation into He-Man.
Across the original Filmation continuity she is mostly seen seated on her throne within Castle Grayskull, communicating with He-Man, Man-At-Arms, and Teela through her magical gifts. She is also able to transform into a great falcon (named Zoar in some continuities) and travel beyond the castle. The 2002 MYP series gave her a personal name, Teela’na, and explored more of the relationship between the Sorceress and her successor in waiting, her daughter Teela.
In the Revelation continuation the role of Sorceress passes briefly to Teela, then returns; the show explores the cost of the role on the person who holds it.
