Toy News International ran a pre-order alert on Saturday for the Factory Entertainment Masters of the Universe Teela’s Staff of Ka Scaled Prop Replica. Entertainment Earth does have it badged as a new pre-order, dated August 28. What neither says is that the staff is not new. And if you want one, you do not have to wait.
We read both listings this morning. Here they are.
Entertainment Earth has it as item FT408563 at $29.99, filed under New Pre-Orders, with a live Pre-Order button and an estimated arrival of February 2027. Amazon has the same piece, model number 408563, at $25.21, in stock now, with the line “Only 5 left in stock - order soon”. Cheaper, and seventeen months earlier.
It has been out since at least 2023
The Amazon listing carries 14 ratings at 4.6 stars and the reviews run back to February 3, 2023. So what we have is a catalogue piece getting a fresh distributor allocation. That is an ordinary thing for Entertainment Earth to list (they do it constantly, and the badge is theirs rather than Factory Entertainment’s) but “New Pre-Orders” reads like a reveal and it is not one. I would rather you knew before you clicked.
What you actually get
Factory Entertainment’s copy calls it a scaled replica of the Kobra Staff, molded out of solid metal, in collector ready to display packaging. Entertainment Earth’s spec table fills in the numbers: 9 inches long and 0.20 inches across.
That second figure looks like a typo. It is not. I checked it against the spec table and then against the photograph, and it really is a slim wand rather than a prop you could lean on. All the detail we can see is in the cobra head.
Factory Entertainment’s own scale drawing is the clearest answer to the question everyone asks first, so here it is.
Boxed it runs 13 x 2.5 x 2 inches and half a pound. Ages 18 and up.
Correction, and it is a useful one. An earlier version of this post said Factory Entertainment had no website. That was our mistake: the company trades at factoryent.com, not factoryentertainment.com, and the staff is right there on its own store under SKU 408563. It is $29.99 with a live Add to Cart, tagged In Stock, described as officially licensed and part of Factory Entertainment’s Scaled Prop Replica line, which the company pitches as entry-level pricing without skimping on detail.
Which sharpens the whole thing. Two places will sell it to you today, the maker at $29.99 and Amazon at $25.21, and the third wants the maker’s price for delivery in February 2027.
Worth having?
It is the same line as the Skeletor Havoc Staff and the She-Ra Sword of Protection replicas we carry in our shop block below, so it will sit happily beside either of those on our shelves. Twenty five dollars for solid metal is an easy yes, and the maker’s own thirty is not much of a stretch. A wait until 2027 at that same thirty is the one that makes no sense.
Worth saying that Teela has carried a snake staff since the very beginning. The 1982 Mattel figure shipped with one, along with the shield and the removable snake armour that turned her into the Goddess, so this is not a deep cut. It is her oldest accessory!
