Faker is a magical duplicate of He-Man, created by Skeletor through sorcery to infiltrate the Heroic Warriors. He is given away by his blue skin, orange hair, red battle harness, and somewhat hollow speech, and almost always exposed before he can do real damage in the original Filmation episodes.
The character’s enduring popularity is partly nostalgia for the simplicity of the gag (an evil twin who is visibly an evil twin) and partly the toy itself: Faker is a straightforward repaint of the He-Man mold and one of the easiest “complete the collection” pickups for a vintage collector. Modern Origins, Classics, and Masterverse lines have all produced their own Faker variants.
