The Iron Studios Skeletor BDS Art Scale 1/10 shipped alongside the He-Man piece in late 2021. Same scale, same modular base system, same hand-painted resin-and-ABS construction, designed from day one to be displayed as a pair or as part of a larger diorama. Panthor is available separately as a companion piece for an additional $159.99.

The sculpt is one of Iron Studios’s strongest character interpretations. Skeletor stands at about 20 cm, in a wide-stance attack pose with the Havoc Staff raised in his right hand and the half-sword in his left. The pose deliberately echoes the original 1982 toy box art rather than any of the animation models. The skull face is sculpted with more anatomical realism than the toy ever attempted, with visible bone structure and a slight forward jut to the jaw that suggests the character is in the middle of a snarl rather than the toy’s neutral expression. The hood drapes over the shoulders in folds that catch the studio paint shadowing.

Production engineering is interesting on this piece. The Havoc Staff is cast in clear resin with a yellow paint dye baked in, which produces a translucent glow effect under display lighting that solid-painted resin cannot match. The half-sword in the left hand is steel-painted ABS to keep weight down. The cape is sculpted resin with a slight bend in the lower hem to break the symmetry of the pose.

MSRP at launch was $199.99 through Sideshow Collectibles and Iron Studios direct. The piece shipped in late 2021 with backlog clearing through early 2022. Open edition, so still available at retail through Iron Studios distribution.

For collectors, the Skeletor BDS is more interesting than the He-Man piece because of the asymmetric pose. The He-Man piece is the classic hero stance; the Skeletor piece feels like a snapshot of action. Pairing the two with Panthor (and ideally with the rest of the announced BDS Eternia lineup) builds the diorama Iron Studios designed from the start. Secondary market pricing sits at MSRP or slightly above. The Panthor companion piece has fluctuated more, with eBay sales between $170 and $240 depending on condition and the time of year.
