The Origins line, which began in 2019 as Mattel’s homage to the vintage 1982-1988 figure design language, continues to expand. Recent waves have added late-vintage Heroic Warriors that had been missing from the line’s early years (Rio Blast, Extendar, Snout Spout), the full Snake Men complement, and a series of crossover lines with ThunderCats and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The shelf format Origins uses keeps each figure on a vintage-style cardback, making the line a visual continuation of the original Mattel-1982 design language.
