Two-Bad is two people sharing one body, and that has made him awkward to tool since the vintage line first tried it. Mattel has now had two goes at the problem in Origins scale, and a teaser that went up on Mattel Creations this morning points at a third.
The teaser is two macro crops and nothing else: on the left a clenched fist in gunmetal grey on a blue arm, cuffed in a band of raised studs, and on the right the face of a shield in bright orange, filled with raised domes and triangular ridges. Toy Habits read the post and reports that the figure goes on sale on September 23 at 9:00 a.m. PT, with Club Grayskull members buying first, through September 24 at 8:59 a.m. PT.
The tease is Mattel’s own, because the store publishes the name of its live deployment in the page source, and the label sitting on creations.mattel.com for this morning’s 9:00 a.m. PT publish reads CH-9.10 9am MOTU TWO BAD T. [1] The date is a different matter. Mattel’s own launch calendar runs out on Thursday September 17, every slot on it reads COMING SOON with a dollar band and no product name against it, and there is no product page for a new Two-Bad on Creations at all. [2] September 23 rested on Toy Habits and on nothing else we could reach when this went up. A second outlet has run it since, with a price on it.
Updated September 11: a price, and a second outlet on the date
Toy News International ran the tease later on the evening of September 10, under the headline “Mattel Club Grayskull Masters of the Universe Two-Bad Figure Coming September 23rd”, and it has the one thing Toy Habits did not: a price, given as PRICE POINT: $22. The window is there too, to the same minute, in the form Mattel uses on its own product pages: “from September 23, 2026, at 9:00am PT through September 24, 2026, at 8:59am PT, only Club Grayskull members can buy this item at MattelCreations, while supplies last.” [5]
That is a fuller look at the same teaser. It is not a second source. TNI opens on a line that reads like the store’s own teaser copy, “Think your collection can handle twice the terror?”, and runs the window and the price as plain body text underneath it, so the likeliest reading is that both outlets are quoting one Mattel post and one of them quoted more of it. The date still rests on that teaser. The price is new.
TNI’s headline puts Club Grayskull in the product’s name, while the image path it filed the story under reads Masters.of.the.Universe/Origins/Two-Bad. Club Grayskull is also the membership whose 24 hour window the quoted copy describes, so the headline may be naming the window rather than the line. Mattel has not said which.
Mattel has still published nothing. The launch calendar was loaded again this morning: nine slots, the furthest of them Thursday September 17, every one reading COMING SOON with a dollar band and no product name, and no September 23 entry anywhere on it. A store search still returns no Two-Bad beyond the 2024 multipack we go through below, and that one is still sold out. But $22 is the first number anyone has put on this figure. That is Origins single money, not the multipack money. Neither that price nor that hour has appeared on a Mattel page.
Origins already made a Two Bad
The line got there already. The Masters of the Universe Origins Two Bad Multipack went out on Creations at $50.00 under Mattel’s own SDCC 2024 tag. It is sold out on Mattel’s store today.
It did not give you Two-Bad, though. It gave you Tuvar and Baddrah as two complete 5.5 inch figures with sixteen points of articulation each, plus a spare torso, so that you could stand them on the shelf as a pair of arguing henchmen or pull them apart and build the merged body yourself.

Look at what it was wearing, because the 2024 deco is cartoon deco throughout. Orange armour, yes, but a cartoon orange, moulded in one piece across a chest that runs bright blue on one side and violet on the other, over silver briefs on Tuvar and crimson ones on Baddrah. The box says CARTOON COLLECTION along the bottom in rainbow letters, the front art is the animation logo rather than the toy one, and a speech bubble on the side panel reads “SHUT BIG TRAP BEFORE I SHUT TRAP FOR YOU!”. It is a lovely thing, and every bit of it is drawn from the cartoon!
The SDCC slide showed a vintage-deco Two-Bad
At the Masters of the Universe panel this July, Mattel put a Two-Bad on the screen with a starburst beside it reading “Totally retro!”, and the figure on that slide is dressed like the vintage toy rather than the cartoon: a slab chest plate in the yellow-orange family, a red belt, one translucent red boot against one in silver, and a shield in the hand. Toy Habits, reporting the panel, has Mattel’s designers calling it reworked with an all-new torso, newly sculpted legs and updated proportions, and coming with a new mini-comic. [3]
Now put the teaser next to it. The vintage figure is item 9040, sold on a card that calls him the double-headed evil strategist and promises that you can “make his arms do a crushing bear hug”, and his chest armour is a slab of orange plastic covered in raised domes and square studs, with a shield in the blister carrying the same domes and studs. The shield in this morning’s teaser has those domes and those ridges. Where the 2024 Tuvar’s gauntlet was bright silver, the fist in the teaser is a dull gunmetal, with the studs still sitting on the cuff.

What you can buy while you wait
There is no Two-Bad on any Origins listing we could find at BigBadToyStore, and Mattel’s own store has none either. What is buyable today is the Masterverse New Eternia Two-Bad, the larger collector-scale one, in stock and marked down to $26.39 from a $32.99 list, and it arrives carrying an axe, a mace and a shield of its own.
Two other Evil Warriors are in stock in the Cartoon Collection deco, if that is the shelf you are building: Tri-Klops at $12.99 against a $19.99 list, and Invisible Skeletor at $19.99. The Skeletor and Screech two-pack sits at $29.99 with a live add to cart.
If the date holds, this is the second Club Grayskull window in a fortnight, after King Hiss on September 2, and it lands three days after the fourteen Creations exclusives that turned up at BigBadToyStore yesterday go on selling without Mattel. Creations sells these in a fixed window and does not always restock. Watch the calendar for a September 23 slot to appear; if one does, that is the morning to be awake for.

[1]: A Shopify store publishes the name of its live theme in the page source, and Mattel uses that field as a dated deployment label. It records what went up and when, and it carries no price and no launch date, so it corroborates the tease and nothing else about it. [2]: The calendar is drawn in the browser rather than served in the page, so it has to be read with one rendered. Ours showed nine slots, two of them on September 17, and it has never resolved a slot after the fact. [3]: That description is Toy Habits reporting the panel. Mattel has published no product copy for this figure, because there is no product page for it yet.
