A BBC documentary released July 29 titled “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret” details sexual misconduct allegations against actor Jared Leto from four women spanning 2002 to 2016. The accusers claim Leto engaged in unwanted sexual contact when they were teenagers and he was an adult. Some women report alleged statutory rape and sexual assault.
The BBC stated it corroborated aspects of the women’s accounts through interviews with friends and family who were told about encounters with Leto at the time, and said it reviewed pictures and messages supporting the accusations.
Leto issued a statement denying the allegations: “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.” His representatives declined further comment beyond the denial.
The allegations form the second major wave of accusations against Leto. In June 2025, Air Mail published an investigation in which nine women accused him of inappropriate behavior over decades, which Leto similarly denied.
Leto portrays Skeletor in the 2026 Masters of the Universe film, performing the role in a body suit and delivering all lines and action sequences. The character’s skull face was created using CGI in post-production. He did not participate in the theatrical release press tour or promotional interviews for the film, remaining absent from the cast’s public appearances leading up to and following the June 5 theatrical premiere.
