After 47 days in theatrical release, Masters of the Universe makes the leap to streaming. Amazon MGM Studios will debut the Travis Knight film on Prime Video starting July 22, 2026 - opening day of San Diego Comic-Con, a strategic move to capture both streaming audiences and the convention’s influential collector and fan base.
The film stars Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, with Jared Leto as Skeletor, Camila Mendes, Alison Brie, James Purefoy, Morena Baccarin, Kristen Wiig, and Idris Elba. Dolph Lundgren appears in a cameo.
Since its June 5 theatrical debut, Masters of the Universe has earned $113 million worldwide against a reported production budget of approximately $170 million. Despite the underwhelming theatrical performance, audience reception on streaming will be watched closely as a potential indicator for a sequel, which the film’s ending credits scene appears to set up.
Prime members can stream the film starting tomorrow on the Prime Video app.
