Publisher Limited Run Games has confirmed that He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction will release before the end of summer 2026, ScreenRant reported on June 17. The retro-styled co-op beat-em-up does not yet have an exact date, but the summer window places it within roughly three months of the new live-action film.
The game was first announced in August 2025 and was originally slated for April before it slipped. It is in development at Bitmap Bureau, a studio known for modern takes on classic arcade games. In the story, players stop the longtime franchise villain Skeletor after he uncovers the powerful Dragon Pearl of Destruction.
Built in the mold of the old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men, and Simpsons arcade cabinets, Dragon Pearl of Destruction is a side-scrolling brawler with two-player local co-op. Players can take the role of He-Man or companions including Man-At-Arms, Teela, and She-Ra, and can mount Battle Cat. The game spans 12 stages and promises a cabal of deep-cut villains, with teases that include Evil-Lyn, Beast Man, and Trap Jaw alongside deeper-lore figures such as the dark sorceress Shokoti and the Shadow Beasts.
Pre-orders are not yet live, though the game can be added to a Steam wishlist, and no physical edition has been announced despite Limited Run Games being known primarily for physical releases. ScreenRant frames the title as the largest Masters of the Universe video game to date, arriving during a broader franchise resurgence tied to the new movie.
