Spoiler warning: this story discusses a post-credits scene in Masters of the Universe.

Director Travis Knight has confirmed that the She-Ra appearance in one of the film’s post-credit scenes was put there with a sequel in mind. Speaking to Collider’s Maggie Lovitt after the premiere, Knight kept the identity of the actress playing She-Ra under wraps but was open about the intent behind the reveal.

“She-Ra’s always been a big part of Masters of the Universe and the lore,” Knight said. “She’s special to me, she’s special to people that I care about, and I would love to see her story on the big screen.” He added that none of these decisions are up to him: “If that’s the only chance we get to tell these stories, then I’m proud of what we did. But if people demand more, I would love for us to be able to tell more, and she would be a huge part of that.”

Nicholas Galitzine, who plays Prince Adam, said he left his trailer to watch the sequence being filmed. “There are so many wonderful characters, but obviously the He-Man/She-Ra relationship is a very exciting prospect, so we will see what happens,” he told Collider.

The catch, as Collider notes, is that any follow-up depends on how the film performs worldwide. With opening-weekend trade estimates sitting at the low end of projections, the path from post-credits tease to greenlit sequel is far from guaranteed. For fans of Adora, the scene itself is the first time the character has ever been put on a theatrical screen.
