Moviegoers heading to “Masters of the Universe” this weekend may want to stay in their seats. According to a report from ComicBookMovie.com, carried by SuperHeroHype and ComingSoon, the Travis Knight directed reboot includes three post-credit scenes when it opens in theaters June 5.
The report lays out the placement without spoiling the contents. The first scene reportedly arrives just before the closing credits, the second and longest plays immediately after them, and the third comes at the very end once the credits finish. Two of the three are described as “fairly inconsequential,” while one is said to build directly toward a potential sequel.
A follow-up film has not been greenlit. Amazon MGM Studios has not announced a sequel, and the coverage notes that opening tracking in the 25 million to 40 million dollar range leaves the question open for now. The film carries a reported budget around 200 million dollars.
“Masters of the Universe” stars Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam and He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Jared Leto as Skeletor, and Idris Elba as Duncan and Man-At-Arms, with James Purefoy, Charlotte Riley, Morena Baccarin, Kristen Wiig, and Johannes Haukur Johannesson also in the cast. It reaches U.S. theaters June 5.
