Skeletor has been on the air or in print continuously since 1982. The character has been voiced by Alan Oppenheimer, Brian Dobson, Mark Hamill, and Diedrich Bader (Revolution, in a body-swap moment). He has appeared in every MOTU continuity. The 1982 mini-comics called him a ‘demon from another dimension’; the 1983 Filmation cartoon left his origin a mystery; the 2002 MYP series revealed him as Keldor, Randor’s half-brother; the 2021 Revelation continuation visualized that origin in flashback. Mark Hamill’s performance is widely considered definitive — he brings the Joker-voice gravitas to a fundamentally different role and lands both menace and pathos in the same scene. Skeletor is one of the few villains of the 1980s whose continuous use has produced consistent character growth rather than franchise dilution.
