Filmation’s 130-episode MOTU run was directed by a rotating cast: Ed Friedman, Bill Reed, Lou Kachivas, Lou Zukor, Steve Clark, Tom Tataranowicz, Marsh Lamore, Gwen Wetzler, and others. Each brought distinctive visual approaches within Filmation’s house-style constraints. The Granamyr episodes (mostly Bill Reed) carry a different visual register than the standard adventure episodes (often Lou Kachivas or Marsh Lamore). The end-of-episode moral framing was largely Wetzler’s contribution.
