Presented here in this legendary lot is a superb pair of original hand-painted cels featuring the strongest heroes in Eternia, He-Man and She-Ra, from the seminal Saturday morning cartoons, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra: Princess of Power. Premiering over 40 years ago on 9/26/1983, the series follows a timid Prince Adam who lives with his royal family in the land of Eternia, a distant and mythical place, keeping a closely guarded secret given to him by the mysterious Sorceress - the power of Greyskull! This power allows Prince Adam to transform from a wimpy boy to He-Man, a brave and fearless warrior destined to battle Skeletor and his wicked minions to bring peace to Eternia. He-Man ran for 130 episodes which was airing concurrent with the toy line that Mattel was producing. The show's success also led to a feature-length film, He-Man and She-Ra: The Secret of the Sword, which introduced audiences to the other savior of Eternia, She-Ra, who would eventually get her own spin-off series titled She-Ra: Princess of Power. Her series ran for two seasons with a total of 93 episodes and would follow the exploits of royal and magical intrigue of Princess Adora who is secretly She-Ra after she transforms with her powerful Sword of Protection. This colorful pair of production cels captures the '80s heroic essence of He-Man and She-Ra which represents a significant era of pop culture and animation, a nostalgic collectible for fans of vintage animation and 1980s television. He-Man's full figure, measuring 3" x 7.5", is a stock image used throughout the series multiple times while She-Ra's dynamic figure wielding her iconic sword, measuring 8.5" x 7.75", comes from an undetermined episode. The overall condition is Very Good with tiny amount of linework smudging, beginning signs very light faded linework, and light handling wear and edge wear.
