He-Man & Battle Cat - Cel + She-Ra Background

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe He-Man and Battle Cat Production Cel and She-Ra: Princess of Power "The Locket" Production Background (Filmation, c. 1983-85/1987). We have an amazing production cel of He-Man and a cel of Battle Cat in this lot accompanied by a hand-painted production background. He-Man (aka Prince Adam) and Battle Cat (Cringer) have been by each others side since the first episode and the cat often provided comedic relief to He-Man's tense and often dangerous battles. All of the items in this lot are 12 field 3-peghole and most of the production background has been painted directly onto its 12 field cel, displayed on a board with some additional gouache details. Both the He-Man and Battle Cat production cels are marked as a stock cel. These cels were part of the series limited animation style and were made to be reused during specific scenes to keep the budget low. He-Man's full figure pose was made to use when he was walking at a certain angle and you can find an example of this at about 11:23 during the episode "The Search". The cel of Battle Cat was used for certain close-ups, possibly when the animal was talking. The 13.5'' x 10.5'' background is marked BG 38 and was created for "The Locket" episode of She-Ra: Princess of Power while the cels are noted 60A and 24 and 80A and C12. They are attached to the background at the top edge with archival artist tape and the lot is accompanied by a Filmation COA. Very Good condition with light edge and handling wear.
